The Sunset District, (aka District 2), is in the Central West part of San Francisco next to the ocean and originally right on the sand. It was once called "The Outside Lands" until developers created the neighborhoods of Golden Gate Heights, Inner Sunset, Central Sunset, Outer Sunset, Inner Parkside, Parkside and Outer Parkside.

This section of the city is mostly flat, quiet and has a small town feel. Homebuyers find modest, moderately priced homes in the Sunset District but they come in a range of architectural styles including Edwardian, Victorian and mid-century modern. Condos are smaller buildings, sprinkled within residential neighborhoods.

CENTRAL SUNSET

Walk to Golden Gate Park when you live in the Central Sunset area. Condo owners here can also easily hop over to some neighborhood restaurants on Noriega Street, or get on the muni line on Judah Street.

INNER PARKSIDE
Sitting below Golden Gate Heights but above The Sunset/Parkside neighborhoods. This area boasts views of the Pacific Ocean.

INNER SUNSET
A great mix of conveniences are found in Inner Sunset. The N-Judah MUNI lines offer easy downtown transportation. The Golden Gate Park is within a few blocks and plenty of shopping and restaurants can be found along 9th Avenue and Irving Street.

OUTER PARKSIDE
This area is very similar to Outer Sunset, close to Ocean Beach and the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Zoo.

OUTER SUNSET
This neighborhood takes advantage of direct access to the Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach. This is where the fog rolls in so be prepared if you decide to live in this area.

PARKSIDE
Like the Sunset, this is an area of primarily single family homes,and the fog does come into the area.
